Secily Wilson, a Bcenter board member, was featured in Orange Appeal magazine's "Women To Watch" spread (May/June 2014) for her efforts to advocate for heart disease and stroke awareness and prevention. In the article, Secily acknowledges Valerie Greene, Bcenter's Founder/CEO, as her "stroke angel." Shortly after doing a news story on the work of Valerie Greene in her previous role as a news anchor for WKMG Local 6, Secily experienced stroke symptoms on-air during a live broadcast. She immediately recognized the warning signs that her body was displaying thanks to the newfound knowledge that she had just learned from Valerie. Secily believes she is alive today because of Valerie! The two have remained connected and now align with the like mission to save lives through stroke awareness.
