The Healing Power of Love for Stroke Recovery

We all need to love and be loved; it’s fundamental to survival. There is nothing more satisfying and life affirming than the act of loving and being loved. Love is essential for our physical, mental and spiritual well-being, and it’s very healing. Love is more than just a feeling, it is a whole body experience and it has a physiological effect on the body. Love is the most powerful and effective healing force in the world and is available to everyone.

Loving and being loved actually improves our level of health. It boosts the immune system and our feel good neurotransmitters in our brain that control our mood, outlook on life and feelings of well-being. I have witnessed this truth in my own life over and over.

Divine love has and always will meet, every human need.

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

(1 Corinthians 13:13)

I have just read how important it is for Stroke Survivors AND THEIR CAREGIVERS to be hugged. It is a very powerful gift for healing both persons inwardly so that the stress is relieved.
Watch any Walton show and you won’t see an episode without it! You come away feeling wonderful because of it … and the loving “Good nights” at the end.

  • Hugs are wonderful. We all need them. I read an article that stated humans need 13 hugs a day. Have you had your hugs today? Give someone a hug just because you can. :)
